Simply beautiful
Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 11:31PM As I was driving for an hour and half to photograph the Rushing family I couldn't wait to get there. Why you might ask? Because I felt like I was home when I got there. I felt love, peace, comfort, and gratitude. I have a new sense of gratitude of the church because it's not all around me now and I can't see the temple basically everyday or just pass it. It takes 90 minutes to get there. Unfortunately Justin wasn't able to come with me but I hope to go back soon together. We didn't go to the temple as often as we should when it was only 15 minutes away at one time. I wish I wouldn't have taken it for granted.

I bought the soundtrack to "My Sister's Keeper" before moving and one day while driving to work this song came on and I immediately had tears running down my face. I was going to a place that wouldn't feel like home, not knowing anyone, and not having a job. There were a lot of feelings going on at once: happy, stressed, sad, excited, worried, alone, supported, and loved.
Today in church this song came to my head for some reason and I knew I wanted to put this quote on one of the temple pictures. It has 2 meanings for me:
1. Being at the temple felt like home because I belonged to a beautiful organization and it's something I went to back home with family.
2. I believe that the feeling that is felt inside and the beauty that is inside is like our home in heaven which we will return to some day.

Now I just can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
I love the one with the quote on it, it would look awesome in my living room, now that I'm redoing it again.
I love the last temple photo. Awesome!
This is a great post!
Courtney,
I'm Heidi Larsen's (Wise) sister-in-law. I just love your photography and this is probably one of my favorite posts from you. I completely agree with you. Thank you for the reminder that I should attend the temple more often. I think a lot of us that live in Utah and have so many temples around us that we take that for granted. And I just loved the quote you put on the temple picture. It gave me goose bumps.
Keep up the great work!

Awe, I LOVE this song- it was our wedding dance song. Beautiful pics- looks like you are finding some work there, I'm so glad!
